David Cain, award-winning musician/composer/producer in the trio Wertico Cain and Gray, continues expanding his musical composition 'worlds' on 'VARIATIONS'. "I feel the need to express myself without any reservation, to tell the truth in my music, using old forms and new sounds and ideas..." 

David follows honors his composition mentor with a new project, VARIATIONS. "Variations embodies the excitement of musical exploration, taking listeners beyond conventional destinations to immerse themselves in unique and often rare sonic worlds. It’s characterized by tracks that push boundaries, such as a string quartet, a sax quartet, jam band burning, and uncommon acapella moods. This type of music honors the past, but welcomes the future, fostering a deep homage to Yes, Todd, Mahavishnu, Beethoven… while imagining new worlds of possibilities...” This album is dedicated to the memory of a brilliant composer, and David's dear friend, Dr. Roque Cordero. "I'm in my treehouse studio composing. My sonic awareness takes me to my sound zone window. A woodpecker was jamming in time with my music! Quickly grabbed my phone, ran to the window to capture the audio. And through the miracle of technology, the Woodpecker drumming on my treehouse becomes a snare drum in the "Woodpecker" variation."
